You can count on High-Tech Automotive to be completely honest and transparent if you are concerned that your car, truck, or utility vehicle needs a new engine. We will inspect the engine thoroughly and give you a detailed estimate of what it will take to repair the problems. In some cases, a partial engine rebuild may be all the engine needs. In other cases, you may need to replace the entire engine because it has reached the end of its life, which happens to all machinery.
Constant Overheating
If your engine has started to overheat constantly and you recently had the cooling system replaced, there could be another problem such as a cracked engine block. Another thing that will cause the engine to overheat every time you drive is a blown head gasket. The engine will also run too hot if you have a cracked manifold gasket. All of these things can be repaired through a partial rebuild.
Constant Power Loss
If you are engine constantly loses power and seems to struggle to produce power, this is a sign that it’s time for a new engine. As we mentioned above, all machines die eventually. They do not last forever. Consequently, if your engine cannot produce power and there isn’t anything wrong, it’s time to let it retire and let us install a new engine in your automobile.
Excess Exhaust Smoke
A ton of exhaust flowing out of the tailpipe is a sign that the engine is burning motor oil, coolant, or fuel. Respectively, the color of the exhaust will be blue, white, or black. In order for the fluid burn to generate exhaust, it has to be a severe one. In other words, it may be time to rebuild a portion of your engine because you got fluid hemorrhaging out of it.
Knocking All the Time
If your engine knocks all the time, pull over to a safe place, cut the engine, and call for a tow truck. An engine that knocks constantly could have a problem in the cylinder block that can seriously damage or crack the cylinder block. This problem is worn rod bearings that make the pistons slam against the inside of the cylinders. The pistons will damage the cylinders if you keep driving.
Metallic Motor Oil
Finally, another instance when your engine needs to be completely replaced is if your motor oil looks metallic. Metal shavings in the oil mean that the engine is disintegrating. It’s that simple.
